Just one more bit of kit.....

...or maybe 2!

OK, so like most photographers, I've never got enough kit. And whilst I wholeheartedly agree with the quote on the right, there's always a balance to be struck. And so with Summer holidays beckoning, I have decided to buy a mini tripod. I already have a 3 Legged Thing Punks Corey as my main tripod (which I love) and a Manfrotto Compact Monopod which doubles as a walking pole and is always with me on hikes. But I really wanted a tripod to take in my hand luggage, and so I've opted for the Manfrotto Pixi Evo. First impressions are very good - the new 'Evo' version of the Pixi means it can hold a lot more weight than the previous version, and is much more suited to DLSR cameras and lenses. It has two different leg angle options, easily extended legs, and a simple but effective ball head. It's reasonably priced too in the mini tripod market, so I'm really pleased with it so far an looking forward to putting it to use over the summer.

And the second bit of kit? I'll go into that next time, but as a hint, it's from those guys over at Gobe....
