Suffolk in the Spring

It hardly seems possible that it is already nearly a month ago that I had the pleasure of spending time in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The more observant of you will remember that this isn't my first visit, and I'm sure it won't be my last. It's a quite beautiful area of the country with wide open spaces and lots of pretty little towns to explore. Southwold with its famous pier is definitely worth a visit, as are Orford, Thorpeness, and Woodbridge, all within a 'stones-throw' of each other. If you fancy some boutique shopping and a bite to eat, check out Snape Maltings. And if you're keen on bird watching, RSPB Minsmere has plenty of walks and hides to while away the hours.
Whilst the first couple of days suffered somewhat inclement weather, mercifully the sun shone on the third day and a stunning sky presented me with some great photo opportunities. Once more I was drawn to the big open skies looking over the estuary and the river Alde. There's always something interesting about an estuary - constantly changing views with the ebb and flow of the tide, long since abandoned boats, and plants and wildlife aplenty.

Since my previous visit to the area, I've now added my Tokina 11-66mm wide angle lens to my collection (or to give its full name the Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II). It really came into it's own, capturing the stunning views and perfect sky. Alas my trip was over much too quickly, but I shall return!
For now, I hope you like some of the images I took whilst I was there in the spring sunshine, and I'll see you all again next month (when I have a feeling I maybe talking about photos from my garden!).
As always, let me have your thoughts and comments and stay healthy.
Glen
